This page contains information for families on how to enrol their child in a Victorian Government school and outlines the timeframes for submitting Foundation (Prep) enrolment applications for the 2026 school year.

Enrolments open: Tuesday 22 April 2025

 

Enrolments due: Friday 25 July 2025

Enrolment applications submitted after 25 July, 2025 will be processed by our school as they are received, in accordance with the Department’s Placement Policy.

 

Enrolment outcome notifications

You will be notified of the outcome of your application between Monday 28 July and Friday 8 August 2025.

 

Enrolment offer acceptance

If you receive an enrolment offer, you should contact our school to accept the offer by Friday 22 August 2025.

 

Transition sessions will be held during Term 4, 2025.

  1. Please ensure that you live within our designated school zone using the following website: Find My School

  2. Complete the enrolment form and read the associated Privacy of Information advice; 

  3. Provide a copy of your child’s Birth Certificate. Children must turn 5 by 30th April in their first year of school.

  4. Provide a copy of your child’s Immunisation Statement.

  5. Please confirm your residential address by providing two (2) of the following documents:
    a. Rates notice;
    b. Signed lease agreement;
    c. Utility bill (ie. gas, water, electricity) that shows your name and address.
    (Proof of Address does not apply to children who have older siblings currently attending the school.)

  6. Return your enrolment and supplementary documents to the office, either by email or in person.

Placement Policy
Yarraville West Primary will guarantee a place for any child living in our school zone. Before enrolling at Yarraville West Primary School please check your residential address on this government website (Find My School) to ensure your permanent residential address falls within our catchment. 

 

Please see the considerations listed below:

 

  1. Students may enrol if they have a sibling at the same permanent address who are attending the school at the same time.

  2. Where the Regional Director has restricted the enrolment, students who reside nearest the school.

  3. Students seeking enrolment on specific curriculum grounds.

  4. All other students in order of closeness of their home to the school.

  5. In exceptional circumstances, on compassionate grounds. (This is an overarching consideration and does not form part of the priority order of placement. Schools are permitted to assess and make a determination for exceptional circumstances applications on a case-by-case basis.
