Italian

Italian is taught across all grades, from Prep to Grade-6. 

When learning another language students develop communication skills and come to understand social and historical aspects of another country.  Language learning contributes to the development of culturally aware citizens at a time of rapid globalisation. 

At Yarraville West Primary School, we celebrate the Italian language and culture with an annual Italian Festa Day.  Children are encouraged to dress-up with an Italian Theme, we host an Italian theatre group to perform for our students and everyone gets to try gelati!
